After your consultation, your medical certificate will be available for download via the Our Sage app, or emailed to your nominated email address for web bookings.

To book an online consultation through Our Sage, you will need to answer some screening questions and provide some basic contact and Medicare details. These include:

• Contact details
• Address
• Medicare or IHI details

When you speak to your healthcare professional, they will ask you for your symptoms and any other relevant medical information. They may also request information about any recent tests. The healthcare professional will use this information to determine if you are eligible for a medical certificate online or if you need further testing or an in-person consultation.

If your request for a medical certificate is approved, it will be available in the Our Sage app almost instantly and / or emailed to your nominated email address for web bookings.

The length and type of your online medical certificate will be determined by the doctor’s evaluation of your symptoms, medical history and any relevant tests. Depending on the nature of your medical condition, you may need further testing or an in-person consultation before your doctor can issue a medical certificate.

We are not able to issue online medical certificates for worker’s compensation due to legal restrictions.

Yes. As long as they are issued by a registered and licenced medical practitioner and follow the Medical Board of Australia’s guidelines for online consultations. All Our Sage healthcare professionals are licenced, registered and experienced in providing online medical certificates that meet all the necessary legal requirements.

Our Sage GPs can only provide consults to patients that are located in Australia. We need to have an Australian number to call you on, even if you are only visiting. You can get an eSIM online if you need to setup an Australian number.
